The ocean
floor, salt and sand,
Lacking waves: no more a sea. Drying earth
breaks, cracks of death
Sea birds flocking,
circle flight,
Sun-drenched
wind forms hill on hill,
Thirst and
hunger, arms of death,
Tiresome toil,
warm soles by night,
Revived, it
dies, the river's edge;
Seam of giving,
flowing seaward,
Rushing whiteness,
swirls around
Sight dimming,
fog inside.
Deep breath
heavy, damping thoughts,
Current carries,
seaward home,
